A Lovely Night With Lovely World

November 25, 2022 (wrote for Melophile Media)

Lovely World returned to rock out at the Smith’s Olde Bar in Atlanta, bringing in the holiday vibes! They put on a fantastic show and brought in a crowd from multiple states surrounding Georgia. When I arrived, I thought to myself, “Smith’s Olde Bar was everything I expected”. It was a bar placed on a corner at an intersection in Atlanta. This bar consisted of the bottom area where drinks and food was served. You could even enjoy the DJ that was playing or play pool in the game room. It definitely had a ‘southern bar’ feeling when you walked in. To your right of the entrance began a small set of stairs that led to the first stage in the Atlanta room and then further up was another stage. Lovely World was set to play in the first room.

I was a little early due to having to set up for my press pass, however roughly 10 minutes before the show, the crowd started piling in. I asked around and some fans came from South Carolina, Alabama, and even St Louis, Missouri! The age of their crowd ranged from ages 18 to 77! I was quite impressed by the diversity of their crowd. After their lovely opener, Lovely World came on stage. The band consists of; Landon Rojas, the lead singer and guitarist, Cade Rojas, The drummer, Daniel Williams, the guitarist, and last but not least Michael Gilbert, the bassist. Each member is very unique in their art. As they started playing, the crowd was in awe. The opening band studied how they played and afterwards asked them questions. Previous fans rocked out to well known songs such as Lovely World’s Newest release, “Burning Down The Interstate ''. I noticed the new fans as well enjoyed what they were hearing. Lovely world also introduced a couple of new songs later on the setlist that they are planning on releasing in the new future! So keep an ear out on that!

Smith’s Olde Bar overall was a nice place for smaller bands to play. The lighting was well, the sound was good, and the staff was very friendly. Only downside is there's not much parking in the bar parking lot around back so get there early! And as far as the band goes, when Lovely World performs, it always seems like it’s just you and the band. The band’s stage presence is always laid back and flowing with each other. . They also, after every show, take time to talk to the crowd and even take pictures. You can definitely tell that they love what they do. If you haven’t already, I highly recommended seeing them live!
